NEW BRIDGE INSTALLED IN ROUEN

August 2006

During the month of August 2006, two giant floating cranes came especially from Rotterdam to Rouen to lift and install various heavy elements of the new bridge « Gustave Flaubert ». The sheerlegs « Taklift 7 » and « Matador 3 » lifted pieces weighing between 500 and 1200 tons each. The 2 central decks of this new road bridge can be lifted high to let sea going vessels pass under the bridge and reach the port of Rouen.

LAUNCHING OF THE PARIS FLOATING SWIMMING POOL

June 2005

Build on a quay in few concrete sections weighing up to 1150 tons each at Rouen, the new swimming pool of Paris has smoothly been launched in June 2005 into the Seine river water. This was carried out using "Taklift 4" with a special rigging arrangement to prevent excessive load stress in the concrete structure. The swimming pool sections thereafter have been pushed on the river and through the locks upto the city of Paris for further assembly.

Lifting and installation of a pedestrian bridge across the Loire river in the city of Nantes.

June 2001

In June 2001 the sheerleg "Taklift 3" proceeded to the installation of the various spans of a pedestrian bridge over the Loire river arm connecting the justice building to the city centre of Nantes. The use of the sheerleg's jib was required to allow to pick up the pieces from their assembly location and lift them over the old trees located on the river bank. The installation of this bridge was one of the first steps of the Nantes island renewal project"
