HIGH SPEED TRAIN MAKING A BOAT TOUR IN PARIS

June 2007

During the month of June 2007, just after the high speed train broke the speed world record of a train on rails, GIANT MARINE provided a flat pontoon together with skilled personnel and a ballasting system to transport the train through Paris historical center on the Seine river.

The pontoon was ballasted accurately taking in consideration the water level in the river in order to enable the transport to pass under the many nice bridges of the city.

The picture shows the pontoon passsing alongside the « conciergerie » (the jail of Paris at the time) where the king Louis the 16th and the queen Marie-Antoinette have spent some time.

EXXON MOBIL - SAIPEM S.A - YOHO Project

September 2005

From Pasir Gudang (Malaysia) to Yoho field (Nigeria)

Ocean going tug WOLRAAD WOLTEMADE towed again the SAIPEM barge S45 loaded with the 11000 tons integrated deck of the YOHO project. Transport stopped for some days in the bay of Port Gentil for the client to prepare both the barge and the heavy deck to the offshore lifting and installation operation by the 14000 tons capacity mega crane barge SAIPEM 7000.

EXXON MOBIL - SAIPEM S.A - ERHA Project

May to September 2004

From Port Harcourt and Korea to Singapore and Nigeria

GIANT MARINE was involved in the major ERHA project. The ERHA FPSO hull has been succesfully towed from Korea to the shipyard in Singapore where the topsides integration is now taking place, and barge GIANT 3 towed by tug Suhaili has transported the 115 m long flare and large modules of the ERHA FPSO topsides from Port Harcourt to Singapore.

EXXON MOBIL - SAIBOS C.M.L Services - KIZOMBA A Project

September 2003

From Saint Nazaire (France) to Soyo (Angola)

The barge VOYAGER has loaded 5 gravity bases of 230 tons and 10 wire reels of 110 tons for the KIZOMBA A project. The 65 tons BP tug "KORAL" towed the barge to Africa. For nearly 6 months, barge and tug made various trips between Lobito/Soyo and the Kizomba field where the laying vessel SAIBOS FDS was working. Heavy lift ship TRACER also participated to the project delivering 2500 tons of pipes and 5 heavy reels to the FDS.

From Ravenna (Italy) to offshore field of KITINA (Congo).

Transport by barge "GIANT 2" and tug "SMIT NEW YORK" of 16000 HP of a deck of 4700 tons and a living quarter of 700 Tons.

TECHNIP GEOPRODUCTION / ELF ANGOLA

December 1995 / January 1996

From Port of Fos sur Mer to oil offshore field of COBO in Angola.

Ocean transport of an offshore deck of 9500 tons by ocean going barge "GIANT 2" and deep sea tug "SMIT NEW YORK" and offshore installation on arrival on the jacket using the barge ballasting system and jacking equipment ("mating" operation).

ELF AQUITAINE - NKOSSA Project

September / October 1995

From Bordeaux, Ravenna and Zwijndrecht to Fos sur Mer.

Ocean transportation of 6 modules of 3500 to 5000 tons each using 3 ocean going GIANT type barges of 450 feet.
